Welcome to Careermake. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website careermake.ai and all related services (the "Platform") operated by Careermake ("we", "our", or "us").

By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

The Platform is currently in beta. Features may be incomplete, change without notice, or be temporarily unavailable. By using the Platform during beta, you acknowledge that you may encounter bugs or limitations.

1. Description of Service

Careermake is an AI-powered career development platform that provides:

• Career Diagnosis — AI-generated assessment of your career readiness across multiple dimensions
• Career Roadmap — Personalized 90-day action plan with prioritized weekly tasks
• Concept Journey — Structured learning experience covering core concepts, video recaps, guided practice, and graded assignments with AI feedback
• AI Coach — Conversational AI assistant embedded within lessons and practice to answer questions and deepen understanding
• Mock Interviews — AI-powered practice interviews with per-answer feedback and session scoring

All recommendations, diagnoses, and feedback are generated using artificial intelligence and are intended as guidance only.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Platform. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Account Registration and Security

3.1 Account Creation

You may create an account using Google OAuth. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure.

3.2 Account Security

You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at hello@careermake.ai if you suspect unauthorized access.

3.3 One Account Per User

Each user may maintain only one active account. We reserve the right to merge or remove duplicate accounts.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform, other accounts, or our systems
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Platform
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Platform
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure or other users' access
• Share, redistribute, or commercially exploit content generated by the Platform
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person
• Submit false, misleading, or abusive content through the Contact Us form or any other input
• Attempt to manipulate AI-generated outputs through prompt injection or adversarial inputs

5. AI-Generated Content

5.1 Nature of AI Content

Career diagnoses, roadmaps, concept journey content, AI coach responses, and mock interview feedback are generated by artificial intelligence (powered by OpenAI). This content is:

• Provided for informational and educational purposes only
• Not a substitute for professional career counseling, mentorship, or employment advice
• Subject to the limitations and potential inaccuracies inherent in AI systems

5.2 No Guarantees

We do not guarantee:

• Job placement, interviews, or callbacks
• Accuracy or completeness of AI-generated recommendations
• Specific career outcomes or salary improvements
• That completing roadmap tasks or concept journeys will produce particular results

Your career outcomes depend on your effort, skills, market conditions, and many external factors beyond our control.

5.3 Usage Limits

Certain AI-powered features — including mock interviews, the AI coach, and assignment evaluations — are subject to daily and weekly usage limits under the free tier. These limits exist to ensure fair access during beta. A paid tier with higher limits will be introduced in the future. We reserve the right to adjust limits at any time with reasonable notice.

6. User Content and Data

6.1 Your Data

You retain ownership of the personal information and career data you provide to the Platform (onboarding answers, concept journey responses, mock interview answers, AI coach conversations, contact form submissions).

6.2 License to Us

By submitting data to the Platform, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to use, process, and store your data solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Platform's services.

6.3 Data Deletion and Reset

You may delete your account or reset your career profile at any time through the Platform. See our Privacy Policy for details on what data is removed and retained.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Property

The Platform, including its design, features, code, AI models, playbook content, task libraries, career profile frameworks, and all associated documentation, is owned by Careermake and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

7.2 Restrictions

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on the Platform or its content without our prior written permission.

7.3 Feedback

If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Platform, we may use them without any obligation to you.

8. Third-Party Services

The Platform integrates with third-party services:

• Google — for authentication (OAuth) and cloud hosting infrastructure
• OpenAI — for AI-powered features

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party providers.

9. Availability and Modifications

9.1 Service Availability

We strive to keep the Platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience downtime without prior notice.

9.2 Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Platform at any time, with or without notice.

10. Termination

10.1 By You

You may stop using the Platform and delete your account at any time.

10.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in abusive, fraudulent, or harmful behavior
• Attempt to compromise the Platform's security or integrity

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you, but reserve the right to act immediately if necessary.

11. Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Careermake shall not be liable for:

• Career outcomes, job placement, or interview results
• Inaccuracies in AI-generated content
• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of data, opportunities, profits, or goodwill
• Damages arising from unauthorized access to your account
• Service interruptions or downtime

In no event shall our total liability exceed INR 5,000.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Careermake, its founders, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform or violation of these Terms.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, India.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Platform with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
